About
The National Educator's Workshop (NEW) builds upon 25 years of annual workshops aimed at improving science, engineering, and technology. Each year the workshop has enhanced the quantity of useful information provided to the participants while maintaining quality and relevancy. The National Educator's Workshops strive to provide current science and technology information to participants that focus on materials science, engineering, and technology education and have expanded their objectives to include K-12 Outreach. Recent endeavors have provided best practices and curricular materials that strengthen young people's understanding of STEM principles. We provide workshops for all educators interested in Best Practices that are instrumental in preparing students for careers in engineering, materials science and life sciences.
The National Educators Workshop series has provided over 7000 participants with the latest developments in material science and technology while offering strategies for improving teaching techniques. These N.E.W. Update participants have seen over 600 experiments and demonstrations presented live or on videotape and have been provided with supplemental notes for replicating the experiments. Peer review and publication of the experiments and demonstrations have provided the materials education community with current, valuable aids for teaching and research.
